Creative Cloud displays a sent successfully message when the sync completes. All the basics you need to make professional illustrations. Anything heavier, I found too cumbersome and complicated to do, and ended up reverting back to my laptop programs. I had high hopes that this new iPad would transform me into a rockstar designer. But overall, using the Pencil to make a quick sketch saved me time. I particularly liked using Adobe Comp on the Pro. A typical day for me revolves around various Adobe Creative Cloud applications. It does all the vector drawing tricks you'd expect, including full path editing and loads of stroke and gradient options, but with plenty more besides.

Each brush allows you to be flat or blend — each color is able to participate with the rest of the image already on the page or fall flat upon it. Hated having just one image layer to work with? Fortunately, the export tools are solid—as long as you are going to a pixel format. The line tools are my favorite part of Autodesk Graphic: After drawing a line, you can then tweak it to your heart's content with an intuitive graph editor. Layers, path select tools, line smoothing algorithms, and—with the iPad Pro and Pencil—even more precise control over lines than Illustrator. I did notice that there was a little bit more latency when writing in other third-party apps, like Paper by FiftyThree and Adobe Sketch. Amazingly, shortcut keys also do not exist for Graphic, a curious omission that really slows down input, requiring manual selection of each tool.
I was able to easily share these with one of my designers to further flesh them out. One way to tell is they all have common example photos, mostly of a jungle bird. It provides a clean interface for your designs and works consistently across iPad and iPhone. You may notice that there are several apps that appear to be direct ports of Illustrator at wildly different price points. It's telling that while has been available for a while, the closest that Adobe has come to an iPad version of is the free and fairly basic Adobe Ideas.

Billed as an all-in-one laptop and tablet stand and made in Italy, the Kolibri allows for the iPad to be held in one of four different positions, including angles best suited for writing and drawing. Even if you just use it to sketch out the initial stages of a project and then send it to a more heavyweight desktop app for refinement, you'll find iDraw a useful addition to your vector arsenal. Open Illustrator Draw on your device, tap a Project, tap the Shapes menu, then tap Change Library to navigate to the library where you saved your shape in Step 1. Provide details and share your research! You can easily switch between Pencil and your finger, and the iPad knows the difference. I find inspiration in the strange and unconventional - from the creepiest of crawlies to a knotty tree. Just keep this in mind when you make your decision.
